A Super Birthday for My Husband
October 18, 2015

My wonderful husband of 50+ years.

Today was my husband's birthday.  We got up a little early to get ready for church.  Our Sunday school class went well.  Everyone who was out was accounted for.  One couple is on vacation and two people were out sick.
I think our youngest granddaughter must
have been concerned about Grandpa's age.
She covered him with her security blanket
and gave him a toy.  Sweet little girl!

The church service was good with a great sermon from the pastor.  As soon as the service was over, Ron, Mom, and I left to head to McAllen to have a birthday lunch with our son and his family.  We had a nice lunch and an afternoon of visiting.
One of the three new kittens.

The grandchildren were as glad to see us as we were to see them.  We just talked the afternoon away and still have so much catching up to do!  There were new kittens to meet and a walking trail Jeff mowed in the back property to explore.  We shared some of the photos from our recent trip.
These cats are well loved

The two younger girls  spend long periods of time in the back yard playing with the kittens.  They are just beginning to get around, but there are 3 older cats, as well as the kittens.
The cats are so patient with all the loving care that comes from the youngest child

Living in the country, the cats have become good "mousers", catching mice that come in the yard from the field.  Sadly for me, they also love to climb clear to the top of the huge trees, keeping the birds away.  I was hoping for lots of good bird photos at their house.
She loves to take the kittens for a ride in the wagon

We stayed until evening and then headed home, stopping for burgers for supper on our way.  It was a wonderful day and we were so glad to get to spend time with the family.

The moon at time to come home.
