Heading to a Wedding!
November 6, 2014

We were up at 2:15 to get ready to leave for Dallas.  We had considered leaving Wednesday afternoon, but still had odds and ends to finish up and wanted to leave the house clean and ready for our return.  Ron did most of the packing on Wednesday evening.  Getting home Sunday night we were sure to be exhausted.  OK, I am actually writing this on Sunday evening, but I will try to stay with the dates of the days I missed doing the blogs.  There was just too much going on to take time for the blogs.

Along the way from Brownsville to north of Austin, we went through rain.  Most of it was a light mist, but I can't be sure all of it was since I slept for about 4 of those hours.  When we arrived in Round Rock for lunch, we were eager to enjoy BBQ at our favorite spot: Pok-e-Joe.  Our son David was on his way, so we did a little shopping until he could join us for lunch.  Then I rode with Dave the rest of the way to our hotel in Dallas so that we could do some visiting.

We arrived about 4:30 and unloaded our luggage before going to do a little shopping, and taking Dave to see the store where Stephen works.  Stephen didn't get off until he locked up after the 8:00 closing time.  We returned to the hotel and left Ron there to sleep.

Dave and I went to meet Stephen at his apartment where he still had a few things to pack and some cleaning to do before he was totally out of the place.  Before long, Bob and Vickey arrived in town and met us at the apartment.  Bob stayed a little bit and then left Vickey to help while he went to the hotel to sleep, also.  One of Stephen's co-workers came to help for a while and we got a lot done in the next few hours.

Vickey did a lot of vacuuming, packing, and sorting.

David packed up the last of the kitchen, took care of some repairs, carried down loads
of boxes to his car and Stephen's car to be transported and delivered one load.

Stephen took 2 loads to the house he and Kristina will be living in,
packed, carried boxes, and did touch-up painting.

I cleaned the kitchen, the bathroom, did a lot of packing, packed up a
lot of the closet things and worked until I was ready to drop.

We finished about midnight - that was for a day that started at 2:15 a.m.  Stephen got to the hotel about 3:00 a.m. exhausted!  Everything looked great when it was all done.  Stephen stayed at the hotel with us  Thursday and Friday nights.

It was a long day, but a lot got done!  Working together is lots more fun than working alone.
