Awesome Sunday!
December 14, 2014

My bad habit of sleeping late continues.  I am going to blame it on the allergy medication I have been taking.  Do you think that will work?  It was 8:00 when I got up and we leave at 9:00.  So 8:00 is a little late!  A lot late!  We did make it to Sunday school on time.  Our class has been providing breakfast this month in the lunch room so all the members were in there when we arrived.  We had a good bunch in class today and a good lesson.  I left early to go pick Mom up to bring her to church.  Mom is wearing the red jacket.
Mom was delighted to be able to visit with friends from church.
She loves her church family and they love her!
Mom was so glad to be back at her home church after being away for 3 months.  She continues to improve, but I know today was exhausting for her.  The first part of the service was the children's Christmas musical.  A bonus for Mom was to get to see was our oldest granddaughter in the musical with both speaking parts and a solo.  Mom is so proud of all her great grandchildren!

The group of children led by Debbie Hollingsworth Robertson.
 Debbie does an amazing job.

It was a great presentation and although again, the music was not something I could discern enough to enjoy, I loved the energy and love of the kids in the group.
After the musical, the pastor brought a very good message of Christmas giving.  It is one of those that really makes you think.

We are so proud of this beautiful granddaughter.  She is multi-talented and very loving.
God has much to do through her in the years to come.

Following the service, we took Mom  and Jeff's second oldest daughter and we went to lunch with a group from the church called The Lunch Bunch.  Mom usually eats with this group on Sundays and has missed them a lot.  By the time we took Mom home, she was tired and more than ready for a nap.  It had been a good day for her, and besides getting to be back in the church service, it was a day of great friends, great food, and great weather.

We brought our granddaughter home with us so she could continue work on her Christmas gifts for her family.  She got most of the work done on the ones for her siblings and then made a wonderful gift for her Mom for Christmas and an adorable gift for fun for her little sister.
While she sewed, her older sister and Grandpa baked sugar cookies.  They were delicious and such a temptation.  Yummy.
She and Grandpa make great cookies and amazing messes!
The kitchen is a sight to be seen!
What a delightful day we had!  Ron took the girls to the church at 5:30 for their AWANA Christmas party.

Hearing the girls here at the house was easier than at church.  They did have to repeat a lot of things, but that just seems to be the way my life will be.  They are loving and patient and the best huggers in the world!
