Thanks for the Prayers

Newly restored chair.  Doesn't it look great with the sofa?

Have I mentioned that the man who was recovering a chair for me, finished while we were out of town?  He gave it to our friends to return to us.  I love it.  I am looking forward to having my sewing room straightened enough to enjoy it in the room.  We need to put padded feet on it so it won't damage the wood floor.  I am very pleased with his work and the work of our other friends who refinished the wood part of the chair.
I  hope you have good friends who help you with projects!
We are so blessed by ours.

This morning I woke before my alarm, at 6:00 and started on laundry, baked a breakfast coffee cake, unloaded and reloaded the dishwasher, and made 2 bowls of Jell-o before Ron was up.  You can tell, I was feeling better.  I still have the cough, but not as bad.  The soreness in the ribs is going away.  The fever seems to be gone but so is my voice.  I can still hardly be heard when I talk.

After breakfast, I got my shower, put another load in the washer, and got ready for work.  I arrived just after  10:00.  My plan was to work from 10:00 - 1:00 to see if I could get the monthly statements ready to mail to our customers.  It was closer to 2:00 when I left the office having done all the statements.

On my way home (for that nap I never got) I had to go the the bank, the post office, the utility company, and to Sears to pay the Discover bill.  I had not had lunch and decided to just snack and put a frozen King Ranch Chicken casserole in the oven for supper.  The nap was out.  I got the last load of laundry from our trip done and made a salad for supper.
This is a Disappearing Nine Patch pattern I am trying.

The suitcases are stored and just about all is done from the trip stuff except finding places for the fabric I bought.  I worked on sorting patterns this evening while supper warmed.  I tried out one pattern and just need to do a little research on it before I really start making something with it.

Today I had to wait on a few customers and I could hear them, but they could not hear me.  My voice is a strange mixture of high squeaks and low rumbles - at least that is how it sounds to me.
Pieces cut to try a braid pattern.

  1. The chair looks great! I see Dennis and Pat have not lost their touch! Still enjoying the pieces they did for us. The best of friends is what they are! Take pictures before you put your quilt show finds away! Glad you are feeling better.
