A Day of Varied Activities
June 19, 2014

Today I did get up on time.  I have been oversleeping too much lately.  I did a little in the yard and house before I went to Harlingen for an appointment with the thyroid specialist, Dr. Concha.  She is such a sweet lady.  She said that my tests were good.  The ultra-sound showed that the nodules had shrunk since 6 months ago when they were checked, so now I can wait one year for the next appointment.  I am sure I will remember the appointment for next June.  Actually, it is in my appointment book.

From there I went to locate a new office for my gynecologist where I have an appointment tomorrow.  On the way back into town I stopped by PaperJay to look at the photos they had prepared for my shirts.  I was pleased and selected the two that I wanted printed on the shirts I had taken to them.  They said they would get them done later in the day.
This is one of the completed shirts made from one of my photographs.

At the office, Ron left on a job and I worked on a few odds and ends.  As always, when he left, I got busy.  I got some displays restocked and a little cleaning done before I had my lunch.  Once Ron was back, we were busy off and on during the afternoon.  I had a variety of emails to answer and then mid-afternoon, I had an email from Mom that she had lost her purse.  That is a scary feeling.  I offered to help her look, but she said she would continue looking.  I went to pick up my shirts and then went by her house to help her search.  We didn't find it.  Praying it will still turn up, but she has done all the things she needs to do.  It is such an inconvenience to have to deal with all that stuff.
The second shirt I had made at PaperJay, using one of my photographs.
Actually, this one may have been taken by Ron.
We went to supper with Mom - I drove since she didn't have her driver's license.  We had a good supper and a good visit and I took her back home.  Once I got home I worked in the yard for a bit before spending the evening relaxing and reading.  I am in the last chapter of the current book, so I will probably finish it before I go to bed.

Our daughter-in-law emailed me several times this afternoon letting me know our son was having to rearrange his travel plans.  Due to bad weather in the middle of the country, his flight was cancelled and they ended up putting him on a flight from Virginia to Atlanta where he will spend the night and  then he will get home tomorrow night - about 24 hours later than planned.  If they were going to reroute him, the least they could have done would be to route him to our house.  I had a nice chat with our daughter-in-law this evening.

Strange thing when I first talked to her - I could understand her pretty well.  Then our son called her so she said she would call back.  In the meantime I called Ron at the office and could not understand ONE word he was saying.  I had him repeat 4 or 5 times and finally gave up.  When our daughter-in-law called back I could not understand her as well as before, but much better than I understood Ron.  It can be so frustrating!!
